Pain is Easier When We See God’s Purpose In It

Your race is a personalized one, perfectly designed for you. But, it is a course that has steep climbs, dark valleys, and thorny paths. Staying on that path means enduring endless frustrations, disheartening setbacks, and at times, a life that throbs with pain. Words from the movie, The Princess Bride come to mind: Life IS pain, Your Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling you something. This episode helps men understand how painful trials accomplish Christ’s mission for us. This understanding doesn’t make them hurt less, but does empower us to endure the pain, even the minor pain of everyday frustrations.

Coming Alive to God’s Jealous Love For Us

We want to help every listener be able to one day stand beside Jesus, look back over his life, and be filled with joy because he stayed focused on what Christ put him planet earth to do. Paul said it this way, I urge you to live a life that is worthy of your calling. Today’s blog addresses our first, and highest calling—TO BUILD AND ENJOY A LOVE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, HIMSELF. Jesus told us the greatest commandment was, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength (Mark 12:30). Jesus loves US with this same passionate, exclusive devotion, i.e. with a JEALOUS love. This blog post explains why fulfilling this part of our mission is absolutely foundational for our lives and how to grow to love God well.

Making the Most of Your Summer

The beginning of summer is a great time to renew our commitment to staying focused on our mission. Those reading this blog want to be able to look back into the rear view mirror of this summer, and be able to say, as Paul did about his life: THE GLORIOUS FIGHT THAT GOD GAVE ME TO FIGHT I HAVE FOUGHT. I have not been so busy with civilian life that I forgot to report for duty. This episode looks at WHY Paul was able to say that about his own life, i.e. how Paul was able to stay focused on his mission, so we can learn have to make the most of our mission from him this summer.
